| Narrow band sensors NEED the heat and lots of it, the closer the better. Wide band sensors have an integrated heater that gets hot, but not as hot as narrow band sensors and the wide band sensor can be damaged if overheated. Read up on the installation instructions for your wide band setup and it should cover the extra steps required to dissipate the excess heat if mounting it in a narrow band location. I've seen recommendations of 30" downstream or more for locating the wide band sensor depending on the manufacturer, so read up on your manufacturer's recommendations. My sensor is located within about 6" of the tail end of the test pipes which meets Innovate Motorsports' recommendations.
